Brooklyn’s Playground – Pocatello, Idaho

Named after a girl with spina bifida whose family helped fundraise for the project. It features smooth surfaces, imaginative play spaces, and adaptive swings that allow everyone to have fun.

Rotary PlayGarden – San Jose, California

The Rotary Playgarden has a merry-go-round with space for two wheelchairs and bench seats so children with varying levels of mobility can sit together and ride. The play area also includes a double-seat seesaw, allowing caregivers to sit behind children and provide support as needed. Additionally, the site has slides constructed with concrete instead of plastic to limit the generation of static electricity that can potentially be damaging to a cochlear implant and other related devices.

Kids Are Special Here Playground – Stevens Point, WI

The park is known for its bright and colorful rubberized surface that creates easy access for walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers. The bright colors and illustrations add to the park’s beauty and provide valuable focal points for those with visual impairments. Sand is also a central feature of this park, raised sand tables and accessible digging equipment allow every child to explore and imagine together.

Martin’s Park – Boston, MA

Named after Martin W. Richard, the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombings. The playground was built to honor his memory and create a positive space in the community for his sister, who lost her leg in the incident and can no longer play at less accessible playgrounds. The park is wheelchair accessible and has several unique musical and sensory experiences, including a large play pirate ship, bridges, swings, and slides.

Explore Playground & SPLASH PAD – Hoover, AL

The park first opened in May of 2019 and has fun for the whole family that includes: 43 elevated play elements and 34 ground level play elements, wheelchair accessible entry points to the play structure and adjoining splash pad, adult and child changing facilities, adaptive swings and seesaws, and various sensory experiences throughout the park.

hugh Macrae Park – Wilmington, NC

This park is relatively new to the area and is an inclusive play space for children ages 2-12. The park is equipped with a Liberty Swing, an accessible musical and sensory station, and a story walk that allows adults and children to read well-known story passages as they travel along an outdoor trail. Additionally is has wheelchair accessible gliders, seesaws, and bridges, and even a splash pad for fun water play.

Jake’s Place – Cherry Hill, NJ

Jake’s Place honors Jacob Cummings-Nasto, who died at an early age from a heart condition and was limited by many traditional playgrounds in his community. Several local community members funded the project Jake’s Place offers wide ramps for easy access to equipment, smooth ground cover, well-shaded spots for relaxation, and adaptive swings and balance activities.

Madison’s Place – Woodbury, MN

Stretching over 16,000-square-feet this inclusive playground offers accessible play decks, swings, and gliders. It has smooth ground cover throughout, sensory play stations, a splash pad, and well-maintained bathroom facilities with changing stations for adults and children.Visitors can picnic and gather together at one of the many shaded areas throughout the park.

Located on the property of The Mandel JCC, it features accessible walkways, tunnels, sand tables, swings, tunnels, slides, and even an imaginative play center where children can engage in imaginative play.
