Laratta. \u00a0\u00a0&#8220;Social Welfare&#8221; offers a wide-ranging selection of work from leading academics. Its interdisciplinary approach and comparative perspective promote examination of the most pressing social welfare issues of the day. The book aims to clarify some of the ambiguity around the term, discuss the pros and cons of privatization, present a range of social welfare paradoxes and innovations, and establish a clear set of economic frameworks with which to understand the conditions under which the change in social welfare can be obtained.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/textbooks.opensuny.org\/instruction-in-functional-assessment\/\">Instruction in Functional Assessment<\/a> \/ 2014 \/ Desrochers &amp; Fallon. \u00a0 Instruction in Functional Assessment\u00a0introduces learners to functional assessment (FA), which includes a variety of assessment approaches (indirect, observational, and experimental) for identifying the cause of an individual\u2019s challenging behavior for the purpose of designing effective treatments. FA is mandated by federal law and is a recognized empirically based approach to treatment of individuals with challenging behaviors (e.g., disruptive, self-injurious, and aggressive behaviors).
