Events will include “Thank You For Recycling” lunch with President Haynes, tips for more sustainable living, “It’s Easy Being Green: Silent Spring at 50,” and walking tours of “green” buildings and features on campus, and more! A Village Called Versailles

Special film screening from the San Diego Asian Film Festival, A Village Called Versailles is about the post-Katrina city efforts to put a toxic landfill where the Vietnamese American community lives in east New Orleans.

Environment & Ethics Faculty Panel

This panel and discussion will feature CSUSM faculty experts on issues related to Silent Spring, including business ethics, environmental ethics, and sustainability. Common Read Essay Contest

Second annual student essay competition. Top three essays win cash prizes and get featured in the Library’s Institutional Repository. First place essay goes on to compete at the county level. Special workshops provided by the Writing Center.
